Expertise

Multidisciplinary Geosciences

My research focuses on organic matter in Ancient and Recent sediments to derive useful insights upon its source, properties and paleo & depositional environments. I use molecular, elemental and stable isotopic compositions of bituminous compounds and kerogen in organic-rich sedimentary rocks such as shales and coals, inlcuding marine sediments to understand Earth’s early life, environment and biogeochemical cycles, thermal history of petroleum source rocks and paleoclimatic variability.
